MENTORS

ENID BENEZRA

Enid Benezra has sung leading roles with the Brooklyn College Opera Theatre and New York University Opera Theatre. She has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera House in Jerome Hines' opera "I Am the Way." Enid Benezra coached operatic roles and concert repertoire with the late Thomas Martin of the New York City Opera and with Gerald Brown, also of NYCO. She has been a member of the Kingsborough Community College Chorus since 1993. She holds a BA and an MS in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College.
JACK BENEZRA

Jack Benezra has sung with the Brooklyn College Chorus, the Brooklyn College Opera Theatre, the New York University Opera Theatre, and Regina Opera. He has been a member of the Kingsborough Community College Chorus since 1994. He holds a BA and MS in Elementary Education from Brooklyn College and was a NYC middle school Language Arts teacher for 34 years. He does volunteer work with the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra.

RICHARD MARTINEZ

Richard Martinez was born in Chicago and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has worked as a performer, music director, music producer and composer in New York City since his arrival in 1978. As a composer Martinez is a film and theater composer with credits that include the play "Viva La Vida!" starring Mercedes Ruehl, Sag Harbor, 2006. Read more on Richard.
HOWARD MEYER

Howard Meyer is the founding Artistic Director of Axial Theatre and Program Director of Howard Meyer's Acting Program. He founded Axial Theatre 8 years ago out of a passion to create new plays with a year-round ensemble of actors, writers and directors. Select directorial credits include the New York City premiere of Athol Fugard's Hello and Goodbye presented at New York Theatre Workshop and Rattlestick Productions and the original workshop production of The Pavillion by Craig Wright at The Playwright's Center in Minneapolis. He was a directing member of the Usual Suspects at New York Theatre Workshop and an inaugural member of The Lincoln Center Theatre Director's Lab.

DAVID A. MILLER

David is a theater director & theater educator and the Director of Education at Roundabout Theatre Company in New York. As a company member of Amphibian Productions (Fort Worth, TX/NYC) his credits include directing 4 Edges, Triptych (reading) and the award-winning Below the Belt. Director: Hangar Theater (Wedge. Ithaca, NY), Syracuse Stage (Understudy Company. Syracuse, NY), Mile Square Theatre (Hoboken, NJ), The New Acting Company (NYC), Annex Theatre (Seattle). Actor: Seattle Children's Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Festival, Wooden O Theatre, Printer's Devil Theater, Theatre Schmeater (Seattle). Educator: Seattle Repertory Theatre, George Street Playhouse, McCarter Theater, The Kennedy Center. David currently serves as a board member of ASSITEJ-USA, the national center for professional theater for young audiences. Former Artistic Director of CityKids Repertory Company, NYC. Former Director of Educational Outreach at Seattle Children's Theatre. He is proud to be a Drama League of New York Director alumni. MFA in Directing, Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
