Workshop description:
Paolo Javier's Workshop
Crossing Borders: Poetry & Comics
Poet Paolo Javier will lead Hadar scholars on a creative journey across graphic and linguistic boundaries in this two-hour workshop. Writing, collage and drawing will be explored via the modern comic book and its rich tradition of artistry and poetry. Participants will have a chance to develop work that can be submitted to this year's LINE “Fit the Page” contest, with its theme, BORDERS.

04/12/07   Mentors of the arts councils meet to plan summer events, which will include: behind-the-scenes at P.S. 1 Contemporary Arts Center, performance at The Roundabout Theatre, screening of a film on Mozart at Tisch School of the Arts, and a charity concert. 06/19/07   Hadar theatre scholars attend the latest production at the Roundabout.

06/23/07   Surrealist games workshop for scholars from all disciplines, led by poet Jill Magi.

06/25/07   Music scholars give a charitable concert in Brooklyn.

06/28/07   Visual art scholars visit the studio of artist and mentor Mark Hess.

07/20/07   Visit to PS 1 Contemporary Arts Center.

08/01/07   Deadline for visual arts scholars to submit artwork for the first ever Richard & Mica Hadar Foundation gallery show at the prestigious Jeffrey Deitch Gallery in Soho. Check our future e-mails to find out about the gallery show submission guidelines and selection criteria.
