The creative arts transport our imagination, inspire our dreams, and challenge us to look at life in new and exciting ways. Established in 1993 by Richard Hadar, Richard & Mica Hadar Foundation supports young artists and scholars by providing academic scholarships, mentoring and career guidance.
Hadar scholars are nominated by high schools and arts and community organizations in New York City. Candidates must have been accepted into a college program, be in need of financial assistance, and demonstrate ability in either the performing, literary or the visual arts.
Since its inception, Richard & Mica Hadar Foundation has provided scholarships to nearly one hundred and eighty students. Hadar scholars benefit from our mentoring program, which includes arts seminars and events. Our mentors are arts professionals who volunteer to help young artists in their chosen careers. Hadar scholars are also eligible for summer internship stipends, as well as stipends to attend summer festivals and art programs throughout the world.
In summary, there is much more to Richard & Mica Hadar Foundation's arts program than financial resources. We are committed to offering a support system that instills in young artists confidence and self-awareness, and helps them embark on their careers.
